Client: BUILT
Project Value: $450,000 + GST

The Challenge
With a compressed four-month programme and a substantial volume of work to be completed, maintaining progress while meeting strict quality expectations was critical. The project required detailed planning, efficient labour management, and close coordination with the builder and other trades to ensure milestones were achieved without impacting the overall construction schedule.
As works progressed, programme adjustments and changing site conditions required our team to remain flexible and responsive while continuing to deliver a high-quality finish throughout the facility.
Our Approach
JVL PAINTERS worked closely with BUILT’s project team from commencement through to completion, providing proactive project management, regular progress monitoring, and strategic labour allocation to maintain momentum across all areas of the development.
Our scope included:
- Comprehensive surface preparation
- Full internal repainting works
- Specialist coatings and finishes
- Defect rectification and final detailing
- Coordination with multiple trades and staged handovers
Through careful planning and strong communication, our team successfully maintained productivity while ensuring all finishes met the project’s quality requirements.
The Outcome
The project was completed on schedule within the demanding four-month timeframe, providing a refreshed and professional finish throughout the Dunstan Playhouse and Western Plaza facilities.
The successful delivery of this project demonstrated JVL Painters ability to manage large-scale commercial painting projects within live construction environments, balancing programme pressures with exceptional workmanship and attention to detail.
Our collaborative approach with BUILT ensured a positive project outcome and contributed to the successful upgrade of one of Adelaide’s premier cultural destinations.
“JVL Painters were engaged to complete the internal painting at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, including the Dunstan Playhouse, Festival Theatre, and Western Plaza, and we were extremely pleased with their performance throughout the project.
The works were delivered under tight deadlines, with a significant volume to be completed within a constrained timeframe. Despite these challenges, the JVL team remained proactive, well-organised, and committed to meeting program requirements.
The project demanded a high level of architectural finish across all areas, and JVL Painters consistently delivered to an exceptional standard. Their attention to detail, communication, and ability to work collaboratively with the broader site team ensured all aspects were completed on time and to a high-quality result.
We would not hesitate to recommend JVL Painters for future projects requiring reliability, efficiency, and premium finishes.”
